The client requested that their new house create privacy from the street, whilst being open plan, light and friendly, it should also maximizes the fantastic northerly views.  The residence also had to include a very large indoor and outdoor arts studio, and be energy efficient.

Located on a steeply sloping block at the south coast the design cleverly creates a level entry from the street. The home has the essential living area located on the upper floor to maximize the views to the north.  The open plan living space upstairs wrap around a central covered northern terrace, for all year entertaining.  All living spaces receive the northerly views and the kitchen has become an important central focal point for the house and the family.  The private main bedroom is also located on the upper floor and gains the magnificent northerly views.
